I’m sure you have heard of Napster, but what was even more popular was that musicians and artists would upload their music to a centralized site where it could be found by anyone who wanted it. This was before the internet, so it wasn’t uncommon to find a track from a band on a certain website. By the early 90s, Napster was a thing, and you could find many thousands of tracks that were uploaded and placed in a central location.
Now, I have to admit, I’m not sure how we ended up with so many tracks in our music library. I guess it’s a good thing we didn’t know how to play a real piano back then.
